British Daily Mail reported about a grandmother who was arrested by a police officer for alleged child abuse in Memphis, Tennessee.
On a weekend afternoon, Leimome Cheeks, 62, returned home driving in her car.
Two young girls came out of the narrow, mobile doghouse, which was in the trunk.
The girls were her granddaughters, who were 7 and 8 years old and they were kept in a dog house while their grandmother was driving home.
At that time, the temperature was around 86°F, plus the air conditioner was not working in the car, and it was reported that even the windows were closed.
When asked by the police why Cheeks put her granddaughters inside a dog house she said that it was because there was no room in the car.
The children told the police that they were too hot while they were in that dog house.
Tennessee police charged Cheeks for child abuse for driving two children in a dog house and she is now in jail at Shelby County Detention Center.
Neighbors were absolutely shocked when they saw the news and said, “I can not believe she acted like that because she is such a good person.”
They also added, “She recently bought two dogs, and that’s why the dog house was in the car.”
