If you’ve ever had a kid in the house, you know just how much havoc they can cause with their seemingly boundless energy until they suddenly hit their limit and they become drowsy and sleep like a log for a few thankfully peaceful hours.
More often than not, they try to fight off that sleepiness but biology wins out most of the time and they take their rest.
Watch the adorable moment the dog falls asleep to owner’s hypnotic suggestion below.

It turns out that young animals are no different as in the case of 12-week-old Raven, a Great Dane pup. As a growing dog, she eats ravenously and zips around at full speed with an energy level that would rival most Olympians.
But just like that, there comes a point when she realizes she needs to rest and let her growing body recover. Yet nap time doesn’t quite appeal to her so she often tries to fight to stay awake.
In this video, Raven had just finished tearing apart one of her stuffed toys and was being a terror to the family’s other day. She even finished a big bowl of food in under 30 seconds in her eagerness to be up and about.
Dave, her owner, then brings Raven up on the couch where she likes to take her naps and decides that it’s time for her to settle down for a few hours. Raven seems split on whether to jump off the couch, as she has her eye on the other dog, or just give in to the pull of the blanket.
At this point, Dave starts patting her and suggesting that she’s sleepy. After a few repetitions of this, Raven abruptly closes her eyes and settles in more comfortably to her nap, as if she was hypnotized by an accomplished stage hypnotist.
A close-up shot reveals an adorably dozing Raven who is blissfully unaware of the world around her as her owner (and the other dog) breathes a sigh of relief at having a quiet house again for the next few hours.
Great Danes are great pets who can be adorably clumsy so their energetic and playful tendencies can easily result in some destroyed furniture and broken ceramic items if one is not careful.
For sure, their huge size and great store of energy can be a challenge but once you get past that, they are a joy to have in the house because of their loving and humorous personalities.
Raven herself will likely grow to weigh more than 70kg (150lbs) so hopefully, she burns off all that extra energy before she starts wreaking more havoc in the house!
