Max and Katie, the two adorable Great Danes, were twins and were adopted by a couple.
Unfortunately, Katie was diagnosed with cancer when she was eight-year-old. Katie was put to sleep as there was no other option left.
Max has still not accepted that his sister Katie has gone. This heartbreaking video shows Max searching for his sister.
He wanders around the home but gets heartbroken not finding his sister. Another clip shows Max running happily after his dad pulls into the driveway.
The heart-melting video was posted online and left everyone teary-eyed. One user commented on the video: ‘Poor Max. You can see he is so lost….sniffing where Katie has been and where she has “marked”. Max may mark more often as if to say “Here I am Katie….find me”.He is truly lost…..my heart is so sad.’
Another user said: ‘OMW, I’m crying like a baby again, I can’t imagine how you feel, we all miss Beautiful Katie?, Love you Max and family, sending hugs from Indiana’ while the third one said: ‘Hang on Maxie, it takes time.’
One user said: ‘Feel so sad for max. He must be so confused being able to smell his sister but not be able to find her. He must wonder where she’s gone. I send love to you all as you go through this very difficult time. Katie will always be with you’.
It is too hard losing the loved ones. This is the hardest thing to cope with for both humans and animals. The way Max searches for his sister is so heartbreaking.
But, he will get used to it. He is a brave boy and he will be happy again. Let’s pray for the poor dog!
