A great-grandmother who lived through the Spanish Flu and both world wars has become the world’s oldest person to beat coronavirus.
113-year-old Maria Branyas from Spain is believed to be the oldest COVID-19 survivor in the world as of this writing.
The amazing supercentenarian, who has three kids, eleven grandkids, and thirteen great-grandkids, was born in San Francisco, the U.S., back in 1907.
Throughout the decades, Branyas survived several world challenges, including the Spanish Flu that cost some 50 million people their lives, and started her own family in Spain.
Several decades later, the woman has moved to Santa Maria del Tura home for the aged where she managed to contract coronavirus despite all the precautions taken to prevent the spreading of the killer bug within the facility.
After testing positive for COVID-19, Branyas was quarantined in her room where she remained until beating the virus and testing negative.
As the strong senior allegedly told the reporters, she’s now doing fine except for suffering from minor pains. The woman also thanked the staff who took care of her while she was sick.
“Now she is fine, she is willing to talk, to explain, to think, she is herself again,” the 113-year-old’s daughter confirmed on Twitter.
As the daughter added, her mother, who was also suffering from a UTI while dealing with coronavirus, was bored during self-isolation.
Speaking of her long life, Maria revealed the secret was in “having good health” whereas she admitted she never smoked and took walks with her friends as a form of exercise.
