Halloween is the time of the year when people wear costumes to scare their friends, family, and also strangers.
But instead of dressing up as ghosts and ghouls, teen activist Greta Thunberg took the chance to troll her opponents who believed her cause is fraudulent.
Sharing a photo on Twitter of herself with a placard that says ‘ skolstrejk för klimatet (school climate strike), the young climate change activist wrote: “So today is Halloween.
I don’t celebrate it back home, but I thought I might give it a try.
And apparently when it comes to scaring a bunch of angry climate crisis deniers – I don’t even have to dress up!! #trickortreat. ”The haters didn’t waste any time in responding to the young activist.
One critic said to a fan whose daughter had dressed up as Thunberg: “I don’t think so. Your daughter is so cute and smiling girl. Greta, on the other hand has a very big salary and a very very annoying face.”
Another wrote: “Hate to have to break it to you Greta, but you are the climate change denier. You seem to think that climate has never and should never change when in actuality it has always changed, that’s why North America is no longer buried under miles of ice.”
But of course, the hate was outweighed by positive remarks as people flooded her social media page with support.
One wrote: “LOL so funny because it’s true. Hopefully, the hospitals won’t be flooded with deniers suffering severe shock.”
Another said: “Hey Greta, I’m a teacher at Paradise High School and I heard you were in Paradise on Monday. Sorry I missed you. I appreciate all the work you’re doing.”
A third added: “You’re terrific! The youth of today need leaders like you. Keep it up, stay strong!”
