Greta Thunberg was scolded by a German railway service after she shared a picture of herself sitting on the floor of an “overcrowded train” on her way back to Sweden.

Following her protests and motivational speeches across America and Europe, the young eco-warrior has finally decided to get some rest and return to her native Sweden.

On her way back home, the 16-year-old also shared a picture of her sitting on the floor of an overcrowded train and wrote:

“Traveling on overcrowded trains through Germany. And I’m finally on my way home!”

Following Greta’s remarks, Deutsche Bahn, the railway responsible for managing the train Greta was on, responded by explaining it would be nice of the teen to mention that she was moved to first class.

“Dear #Greta, thank you for supporting us railroad workers in the fight against climate change! We were pleased that you were on the ICE 74 with us on Saturday. And with 100 percent green electricity,” they wrote.

“It would have been even nicer if you had also reported how friendly and competent you were looked after by our team at your seat in first class.”

Clearly, the railway in question wasn’t happy with Greta’s decision to leave important parts of the story out of her tweet, prompting Thunberg to respond with the following message.

“Our train from Basel was taken out of traffic. So we sat on the floor on 2 different trains. After Göttingen I got a seat. This is no problem of course and I never said it was. Overcrowded trains is a great sign because it means the demand for train travel is high!”

Following Greta’s tweets, Deutsche Bahn has confirmed in a press release that they did everything in their power to accommodate Greta and that she and her team “were sitting in first class from Frankfurt onwards.”
