Former Grey’s Anatomy stars Eric Dane and Patrick Dempsey reunited to demonstrate to their fans how to practice social distancing.
Eric Dane, who played McSteamy or, to be more precise, the “Plastics God” Dr. Mark Sloan in the ABC medical drama series, shared a hilarious pic as he posed with Patrick Dempsey, who played McDreamy or Dr. Derek Shepherd.
The aim of the photo was to teach their millions of fans ‘how to hang out 6 feet apart.’
Forty-seven-year-old Dane shared the heartwarming photo on his Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday, writing: “Blurry pic of how to hang out 6 feet apart.”
The duo was seen standing atop a hill while maintaining social distance.
Fans of the hit TV show quickly responded to the photo. One user said: “I CAN’T BREATHE.”
Another wrote: “MCBROTHERSSSSSSSS.”
A third user added: “MY HEART MY HEART MY HEART.”
Yet another person wrote: “HOW DO YOU EXPECT THAT I GET OVER YOU GUYS IF YOU DO THIS.”
Dane left the show in 2012 after starring in it for six seasons.
In a statement released to TVLine, he said at the time: “I am extremely grateful to everyone at Grey’s, ABC and Shondaland for the experience and memories I have had over the course of this run.
“It has been wonderful to work alongside and learn from a creative force such as Shonda Rhimes.”
Dane’s character died at the start of season 9. The reason for his death in the show was a deadly plane crash that happened in season 8.
Show creator Shonda Rhimes told TVLine at the time: “After much consideration and conversations, he and I have decided that this is the right time for his storyline to end.
“We’re a big family here at Grey’s with a long history together and Eric will always remain an important part of our family.”
