Most of us are so confined to our concrete jungle that we often fail to take in the beauty and majesty of Mother Nature.
We think we know all there is to know in our laboratories and university classrooms but there is still magic in immersing oneself in nature and attuning ourselves to its many intricacies as our ancestors once did.
A trip to the beach or a vacation in a mountain lake will certainly help ground us a bit more but with mobile Internet being so ubiquitous, sometimes even in this “natural” environment we still get tempted to glue ourselves to our smartphone screens just to catch up on our favorite celebrity’s latest Instagram or Twitter post.
Watch this grizzly bear give itself a nice scratch in the back.

But if we paid more attention to nature, perhaps the world wouldn’t be in the sorry state it’s in right now. And even with the sad state of the world, one cannot help but be awed at the beauty that is still all around us.
Animals certainly don’t have this problem of attuning themselves with nature which is perhaps one other reason they frequently become victims to human greed.
Either way, seeing animals go about their daily lives can be quite fascinating.
We often think that all animals do is sleep, eat, and mate. While a lot of their time is indeed spent on the needs of survival, different species also have different routines and some of those routines can be hilariously human-like.Bears immediately come to mind because of the many antics and behaviors that one can easily imagine a human would do such as having fun in the pool, lounging in a pond, or even scratching their backs on a tree trunk. And watching them perform these activities is strangely satisfying.
The following video was taken at the Grizzly Bear Refuge, the largest enclosed and protected grizzly bear sanctuary in the world. During the summer, the 20-acre center is open daily to provide guests a unique opportunity to observe the usual daily routine of an adult grizzly.
The bear in this clip is Boo, one of the sanctuary’s resident grizzlies.
He can be seen getting to an itch at his back by rubbing his back against one of the enclosures wooden fence posts and the sight is so amusing that the ones taking the video can’t help but giggle at his antics. It’s definitely an adorable sight especially if you yourself have ever experienced an itch you couldn’t quite scratch.
But make no mistake, no matter how cute bears may look, they’re no Yogi Bear or Winnie the Pooh. Their terrifying strength can easily rip someone to shreds if they get riled up enough and they can run for long distances and climb up a tree.
Yet that contrast of beauty and danger is what makes Mother Nature alluring and worth closer attention.
