A mother interrupted her son’s wedding after failing to agree with the bride’s vows.
The cringeworthy moment was captured on camera by the newlywed’s sister.
Sarah Ragsdale, from San Jose California, posted the shocking video on TikTok that happened during her sister’s wedding a few years ago.
“My sister’s wedding a few years ago,” Sarah captioned. “Her MIL has always hated her. She’s just one of those MIL’s that feel my sister is taking her son away.”
“Her MIL sat there as they finished their ceremony,” she added on the second video clip. “Went outside and waited until they went outside to take their wedding pics just to start [redacted] again.”
The video starts as the bride is seen exchanging her vows that she has written for her husband, a few seconds later, her mother-in-law shouted aggressively toward the altar.
The mother-in-law, whose name seems to be Judie, can be heard condemning the bride’s vows, claiming that her son had no “flaws”. She was seated all the way at the far end of the front row, taunted the bride saying: “you’re not going to say my son has flaws!”
To which the bride responded: “You can leave. You’re not going to ruin my wedding.”
The irate mother-in-law responded aggressively at the bride: “No, I don’t have to leave, that dress you’re wearing we paid for.”
Judie yells back again at the bride saying: “You are not going to say my son has flaws.”
The bride then responded: “Everybody has flaws and that’s why I love him. You can leave, Judie. You can get out of my wedding now.”
In the second part of the video, the bitter mother-in-law gets up out of her seat and refuses to leave, as she repeatedly insisted that she has a right to be there because she paid for the bride’s wedding dress.
When a woman approaches Judie, asking her to leave, the angry mother threatens the woman that she will have them arrested.
Meanwhile, the groom —who is stuck in the middle of the ordeal— turns away from his mother and stared at the ground.
Later on, the groom can then be heard telling his mother that: “You have the flaws right now, you don’t know how to act like an adult.”
The TikTok video ends with the newlyweds holding hands close together while people tried to calm the mother down, telling her that “it’s not about you, she’s in love with your son, accept it.”
