Three people were killed and at least two were left critically injured after a gunman opened fire at a tavern in Wisconsin.
The most recent mass shooting in a string of gun violence across the country takes place in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, where a gunman started shooting at patrons in Somers House Tavern on Sunday.
According to the early reports, the suspect was initially asked to leave the bar before returning with a firearm and opening fire within the building located in the village of Somers.
As the police have confirmed, they believe that the incident was a “targeted and isolated” attack and that the rest of the community is not in immediate danger.
After the deadly shooting, it has been confirmed that three people were killed whereas at least two were severely injured.
“This appears to be a targeted and isolated incident. We do not believe there is a threat to the community,” Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said.
According to the sheriff, some one hundred officers embarked on a manhunt after the gunman killed several people and ran away.
Recent reports suggest that the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has since arrested a person of interest and that the suspect will be charged with first-degree intentional homicide on top of other charges resulting from their investigation.
As the case remains under investigation, the authorities have urged anyone with information about the shooting to reach out to the department.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Beth also hasn’t ruled out the possibility that more than one shooter was involved in the attack on the tavern.
