Sources say that the office worker felt lonely and wanted a furry friend to give him company. After all, dogs are a man’s best friend! These loyal creatures are always excited to see you and they will stay by your side whenever you feel sad or depressed.
The man was so happy at first with his tiny pooch. However, he started noticing that his pet’s behavior doesn’t match the actions of dogs.
His ‘puppy’ didn’t run like a dog and the guy said that the animal was ‘particularly weird.’
When he finally had enough, he decided to find some answers and shared photos of his pet online, asking netizens if they could help him determine what his pet was.
It turned out that the puppy he had been raising was a bamboo rat!
This type of rat is nocturnal and mostly eats bamboo, according to KHAOSOK. Obviously, the guy had no idea how to take care of the pup – scratch that – rat as it only wakes up at night to eat.
So he decided to give his adorable rat away and now the animal is living in the right environment.
