A man stunned social media users across the globe after he was filmed jumping through a hoop while performing a mid-air split at the same time.
The incredible feat was undertaken by Andrew Price, a 30-year-old gymnast and circus performer from London, on January 13, 2020.
In the video, a hoop was seen being thrown on him horizontally while he jumped off the ground and went into a mid-air split, also known as a “straddle” to get through the hoop.
Speaking of the unusual act, Andrew said: “This trick doesn’t have a name and it’s the first time ever done as far as we know. A lot of professional hoop divers that we showed it to have said the same.
“The one in the video was my third attempt.
“I asked whether we thought it would be possible to pass through the hoop in a straddle jump, so we tried it out and it turned out pretty cool.”
As you have nothing to do but sit back and relax at home during this lockdown, you can try to copy Andrew’s act but it might not be a safe thing to do, given that you don’t have any previous experience with this particular type of gymnastics.
However, there’s a thing for beginners that is known as the “New Flex Challenge” that you can do.
The video that started this challenge was initiated by Jax Krantiz and since its debut on the internet, the video has racked up more than 250,000 views.
What you have to do for this challenge is to lie down on your belly and stretch your legs straight while your hands are behind your back.
Now you have to stand up by bringing your legs out so much that you can get on your feet without using your hands.
Since the video was posted by Jax, her 80,000 followers are showing their surprise on seeing the level of flexibility in her body.
One person commented: “Just saw this on TikTok. You’re a beast. I can hardly touch my toes,” while another wrote: “You’re like an All American Gymnast tho! I ain’t blessed like that.”
Yet another fan commented: “Anyone that understands anatomy knows this is possible but rare. The human body is amazing.”
