Halyna Hutchins’ grieving husband reportedly spoke to Alec Baldwin after the actor accidentally shot and killed the cinematographer.
As 38-year-old Matthew Hutchins told DailyMail.com, he is preparing to make an official statement in regards to his wife’s tragic and premature death.
The heartbroken husband also revealed he had since the shooting on the movie set spoken to Alec Baldwin. “I have spoken with Alec Baldwin and he is being very supportive,” Hutchins said.
He also revealed that he is still preparing an official statement, which he will share on his Twitter account, while thanking everyone for the support during these painful times.
As the grieving husband of the photography director added, he is also planning to set up a memorial together with the American Film Institute.
Hutchins also spoke to Insider to reveal that more time is needed to “encapsulate her [Halyna’s] life in a way that is easy to communicate.”
“I don’t think there are words to communicate the situation. I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we’re going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic,” he said.
42-year-old Halyna Hutchins died about an hour after she was shot by Alec Baldwin on the set for Rust. The cinematographer was shot after Baldwin’s prop gun, which was supposedly filled with blanks, misfired.
Following the shooting, Baldwin was seen breaking into tears outside the sheriff’s office where he was taken for questioning.
“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” the actor later wrote.
“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
