Cute photos have emerged of a happy seal pup waving at a camera while sunbaking on a beach.
A lucky photographer, Johan Siggeson, took photos of the adorable moment at the Horsey beach in Norfolk.
“It was an amazing experience to spend time with these seals. We had some horrible weather the first days with rain, hail and wind,” he said.
The photos show the happy common seal sunbathing with its flipper to its head in a cheerful expression.
“Back to the babies again then… It’s easy to be drawn to these cuties when working on the beach here in the UK. If you lack a bit of inspiration there’s always a cute pup around,” Mr. Siggeson wrote on Facebook.
One internet user commented: “Best news anytime than all the negative news, life would be so boring & dull without the animals we share this world with, & humans should keep their distance & stop frightening these Beautiful animals, any animals they come across……”
Another wrote: “Oh my goodness, he is just too cute, now I bet lots of idiots are going to go to film them and scare these beautiful creatures to death.”
A third said: “Two died last week when one was chased into the sea so drown and one was cut off from his mum so the mum left it.. All by families with children and the parents letting their children scare the poor pups or they want cute pictures of their kids next to them, poor pups should be left alone and people should stick to the tracks set out by the wardens!”
The cute seal pup appears happy unlike recent months where some were discovered with their necks stuck in flying discs.
According to RSPCA, plastic related incidents rose from 473 in 2015 to 579 in 2018.
Common seals rest ashore from November to January to give birth. Blakeney Point nature reserve is a home to Grey and Common seals, with over 3,000 pups born every year.
