Prince Harry will fly back to the US to be with his heavily pregnant wife Meghan Markle after he and his father Prince Charles take a walk to view floral tributes to the late Duke of Edinburgh.
Royal sources said that the Duke of Sussex is likely to spend another night at Frogmore Cottage, the house given to him and wife Meghan by the Queen as a wedding present.
He is expected to return to his Montecito mansion in LA, where Meghan has been staying.
The Duchess of Sussex did not fly with Harry to the UK after she was advised by her doctors not to make the 10-hour flight because of her pregnancy.
Instead, Meghan watched the emotional ceremony on television and sent a handwritten card left on a wreath at the funeral.
Prince Harry’s meeting with his 72-year-old father comes after he and his brother Prince William were seen talking with Kate Middleton after the funeral.
The brothers’ relationship has been strained since Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah, in which the couple made damaging claims of racism within the Royal family.
William and Harry were separated by their cousin, Peter Philips, during the funeral procession. However, they were seen talking to each other as they walked towards Windsor Castle.
Sources have told The Mail that the Duke of Sussex has experienced a ‘great deal of frostiness’ from many of his relatives since he arrived in the UK.
It was claimed that Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie did not acknowledge Harry before or during the funeral service.
“Ironically the only one who has expressed any sympathy towards him is Prince Andrew,” one source said. “He knows from Sarah Ferguson – and now first-hand – how it feels to be the outsider, which Harry very much is.
“As far as the others are concerned, there is a deep sense of protection towards the Queen and resentment towards Harry. There is little sympathy for him after what he and Meghan said on Oprah.”
The source added: “They are still very upset. They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly.”
