Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Chief Of Staff ‘Wanted Out’ Only 11 Months Into The Job After Fulfilling Tasks Outside Of Contract


Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s chief of staff and executive director of Archwell is said to have ‘wanted out’ after performing tasks outside of her contract, insiders have revealed.

Catherine St Laurent left her role only 11 months into the job after she found herself “having to fulfill a great many functions for the couple.”

One source told The Telegraph: “I think there was a sense that she was having to fulfil a great many functions for the couple – not all of which were necessarily in her job spec.”

Ms St Laurent was head-hunted by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the Bill and Melina Gates Foundation to be their chief of staff and Archewell’s executive director.

The couple called the mother-of-two an “incredible asset,” adding: “We are excited to have her on our team.”

But insiders have claimed that the mother-of-two ‘wanted out’ after having to perform tasks outside of her contract.

New York Post reported that Ms St Laurent has stepped down from her role but she will continue to work with Archewell Foundation.

Her old position as executive director will be given to the Sussexes’ current communications officer in the UK, James Holt.

The couple have also appointed Toya Holness as their foundation’s global press secretary.

A royal insider expressed shocked at the news that Ms St Laurent left her role, telling Daily Mail: “She was a huge appointment for them.

“A big hitter with a great track record, poached to head up their new working life in the US. It is really quite astonishing she has left that role after less than a year.
