Prince Harry Smelled Like ‘Cigarettes And Alcohol’ From Every Pore, Says Famous TV Host Katie Couric

US TV host Katie Couric said the Duke of Sussex smelled like ‘cigarettes and alcohol’ from every pore as she looked back on what she describes as his ‘wild-oats sowing phase’.

Couric, who interviewed Prince Harry in 2014, claims that when she met the son of Prince Charles and late Princess Diana at a polo match in Brazil the stench of booze and cigarettes was hard to miss.

She added that the smell seemed to “ooze from every pore,” Daily Mail reported.

In May, the Duke of Sussex said that he used drugs and alcohol as a method to cope with his failing mental health because of the death of his mother.

During the Apple TV series ‘The Me You Can’t See, Harry opened up to Oprah Winfrey and admitted that he was “willing to take drugs” when he was struggling to process the death of his mother.

“I was willing to drink, I was willing to take drugs. I was willing to do the things that made me feel less like I was feeling,” he expressed.

“But I slowly became aware that, ok, I wasn’t drinking Monday to Friday but I would probably drink a week’s worth in one day on a Friday or a Saturday night,” Harry continued.

“And I would find myself drinking not because I was enjoying it but because I was trying to mask something.”

The duke said that the ages of 28 to 32 were a ‘nightmare’ part of his life. He said that he has since taken Meghan Markle’s advice and sought therapy to help him with his mental health.

Harry revealed that he had been previously told by his family to “just play the game and your life will be easier.” But he said that it was not for him as he has “a hell a lot of my mum in me.”

“Unfortunately when I think about my mum, the first thing that comes to mind is always the same one over and over again,” he revealed.

“Strapped in the car, seat belt across with my brother in the car as well and mother driving and being chased by three, four, five mopeds with paparazzi on.

“She was always unable to drive because of the tears. There was no protection.”
