Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed the name of their new charitable foundation after stepping down from their official senior royal duties last month.
The couple is all set to launch their new foundation named Archewell as a part of their new venture. According to the Telegraph, the Greek word “Arche” means “source of action,” and it was inspired by the name of their son Archie.
The Duke and Duchess told the Telegraph: “We connected to this concept for the charitable organisation we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.”
‘’Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, further details of the organisation will not be revealed as the couple said in an announcement that all the details will be made ‘when the time is right.’
They added: “Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic, but faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be.”
The website will focus on ‘’information in the field of nutrition, general health and mental health” as well as an entertainment section. The Telegraph has previously revealed the couple has already filed for the paperwork regarding their website.
Meghan and Harry have moved to Los Angeles with their 11-month-old son and practicing social distancing. According to reports, Meghan is ‘heartbroken’ as she has not met her mother Doria Ragland since they have moved to L.A. as they are in quarantine and need to follow the guidelines regarding to coronavirus.
The source told The Sun: ”Meghan is absolutely heartbroken – after all, one of the main reasons she decided to live in LA was to be near her mom.
Because of her age, Doria obviously has to be careful and Meghan and Harry are sticking rigidly to all formal guidelines when it comes to coronavirus.
They’ve been WhatsApping and FaceTiming almost daily but obviously it’s not the same.”
