They opted for a commercial flight this time as they have been slammed for preaching about saving the planet, and then flying around the world by private jet.

The eco-friendly couple carried their own hand luggage as they were escorted off the plane by their close security officers. Meghan was wearing shoes made with recycled plastic water bottles and carrying a carry-on bag made from a material that can allegedly be recycled indefinitely.

The Duchess donned a striped shirt, black cardigan, jeans and black pumps and wore her hair down. Her $125 black pumps are from Rothy’s, a San Francisco-based company that produces its shoes from repurposed water bottles designed for landfill.

Meghan’s $1,790 duffle bag was from Prada’s Re-Nylon line, which uses the material Econyl, a material that can allegedly be recycled continually. Meanwhile, Harry wore a grey sweater, jeans and a baseball cap as he left the flight.

The pair have been in the US since last week when they made their first public appearance as a couple since their shock decision that they were stepping back from royal duties.

As reported by the Today show, Harry and Meghan are said to have attended ‘brainstorming sessions’ with several ‘professors and academics’ from the university helping them creation of their new charitable organisation.

The Duke and Duchess mentioned heir plans to launch a new charity after announcing they were stepping back from their role as senior members. They wrote on their website that their decision to split their time between North America and the UK would help them in this attempt.

‘This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity,’ they wrote.
