A 6-year-old girl has tragically passed away from cancer after her mom noticed a change in her face during a family meal.
According to local media reports, Acacia Surridge-Hill passed away from a rare brain tumor that was diagnosed just a year ago.
After seeing the change in her daughter’s face, the mom became alert and made it a point to visit the doctor to help see what was wrong. And that’s when the couple received the worst news ever, regarding her tumor.
Her mother, stepdad, and brother are beyond heartbroken and devastated at the news that has left all of them numb and lost for words. “She was due to become a big sister in a matter of weeks. Acacia was so excited for that and looked forward to it,” explained her mother.
“She was a huge fan of Frozen and when she passed away, it was snowing. Now every time it snows, we will remember her,” cried the family.
When the family was eating together one day, they realized that something was not right about her face. One of her eyes was almost closed while her mouth remained slanted to one side. At first, her GP diagnosed it as Bell’s Palsy but her mother pushed for a scan to further note what was the matter.
After undergoing her scan in September of last year, doctors revealed how a mass was growing on her brain. Moreover, after undergoing surgery and more scans, doctors came to the conclusion that she was suffering from a midline glioma, which is not only aggressive but incurable cancer.
For this reason, the young child underwent radiotherapy sessions to assist in slowing down the tumor’s growth but just one year later, she passed away, leaving loved ones shattered.
