There is no love greater than the love between a mother and her child. Christin Lang and her son, Augie shared a heartwarming moment with each other.
Since Augie was born, he couldn’t hear and failed in his first hearing test as many babies fail during their first test, so it didn’t become a reason for worry because even Christin’s middle son didn’t pass his first test.
Then after some more tests, the doctors delivered unexpected news about her baby. Christin started to get worried as the tests were not going in the right direction.
After his diagnosis, it was discovered that he has a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. It was a shock for the family as they didn’t expect that their newborn baby will turn out to be deaf.
When Christin realized that her newborn baby wouldn’t be able to hear her ‘I Love You’s’ she started crying. Christin got so busy with the reports, research, and learning American Sign Language that she didn’t get much time to process the whole situation.
She enrolled Augie in a Happy Hands school which is for deaf children in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The school is dedicated to teaching children sign language who aren’t able to hear.
When the doctors put hearing aids, he started laughing, and that was a very emotional moment for Lang. He started responding to his mother’s voice, and it was a dream come true for Christin.
Lang claimed that she was crying tears of joy because her son could hear her saying things. She said that it has always been her greatest dream since he was born, and today he could actually hear me.
Christin is dedicated to learning sign language for her son so that she can communicate nicely. Though Augie is able to hear after wearing the hearing aids without them, the only way of communicating is by using sign language.
