The automobile which had a coffin made a stop at the Burger King drive-thru so that the great-grandad could purchase one Bacon Double Cheeseburger as the last wish.
Leonard Durkin, who was 71 years old passed away because of heart, and before his death, he always wanted to go to Burger King with his son Peter and wife, but his wife died two years ago.
Leonard always used to order Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and he wanted his son to order the same one last time after he is gone. So that’s what the family did after his death.
The hearse which carried his coffin drove through the Takeaway lane of Burger King, which is on Elland Road in Leeds. Peter said that his dad had an amazing sense of humor and he must be laughing from up there.
He further said how the father-son duo always used to visit the Burger King after visiting Peter’s mother’s cemetery.
Every time they went to the Burger King, Leonard used to take Bacon Double Cheeseburger XL, and that’s why Peter got the same for him on his funeral day.
People who saw the hearse were shocked to see that a dead man has come to take his last take away. The takeaway lady didn’t react much and served them, knowing that it was her business.
Leonard used to live in Leeds with his six children, 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
It seems like he used to live with a huge family there. A lot of people were shocked to see such a thing happen and that’s why some of them said that it is the first time they saw a dying man take his take away from the Burger King drive-thru.
Some others said that people do go an extra mile to give their loved ones what they want.
It seems like Leonard was a funny guy. RIP Leonard.
