A mother is the one who is always more in pain than the child when it gets hurt.
When George was born to his mother Megan Thompson, her mother could not have been happier to be blessed by a beautiful baby boy but at the same time the woman was worried too as her little baby boy was born with cleft pallet, a condition where along with his lips, his upper pallet of the mouth was divided into two parts too.
While the situation would have been worrisome for any mother, it was scaring the 21 years old majorly because she was born with the same condition and her son had inherited it.
Megan says that due to her condition, even after several corrective surgeries she had a terrible childhood as kids used to bully her so much so that she had to change her school to get rid of the bullies.
She said that ever since George was born, people have been kind to him and to her except for one time when an old man came to her when she was in the doctor’s office and asked her “when is she getting his face right.”
George had his first surgery when he was 5 months old and his second surgery when he was just 11 month years old.
His mother said it was bliss to see him smile for the first time after the surgery. Now the boy is 16 months old and he has the most beautiful smile.
Megan says “I had been through the same condition and I know the world is cruel out there. I just don’t want my son to face the same bullying that I have faced. It breaks my heart to even think on the same happening to George.”
