Tesco discovered two sharp pieces of metal in a Heinz baby food jar after it had been “tampered with.

”

Heinz told its customers that there’ve been no harm to anyone due to these metal fragments and that they are looking into the matter to find out the source of contamination.

To prevent any mishap from happening, Tesco has removed all the eight flavors of Heinz baby food from their shelves.

The mango chicken curry, sweet and sour chicken, cheesy & tomato pasta stars and cottage pie are no longer up for sale at Tesco.

Other flavors affected by the recall include winter veggies and lams, Sunday chicken dinner, pasta bake with tuna and spaghetti Bolognese.

The 200g jars, labeled “By Nature,” are recommended for toddlers aged over seven months.

This recall has encompassed all the batches of the jars from the retail stores without accounting for the batch number or expiry date.

However, only the Heinz jars available for sale at Tesco are recalled.

You can still buy the same product even the ones of the same batches from other retailers that come in any other form of packing.

If you have a jar of the product that you picked up from Tesco, make sure not to feed it to a baby.

Anyone who has got the affected jars can return them to Tesco and get a full refund even without the original receipt of purchase.

After the incident went viral on social media, Heinz issued a statement to address the concerns of its customers.

The statement said: “We regret that this incident has happened and are sorry for the concern and the inconvenience that this recall may cause.”
