The 21-year-old daughter of a wealthy businessman was so stunned after seeing a typical night on Romford high street that she broke down in tears.
Emily, a university student, swapped her lifestyle to live with struggling single mother-of-two, Kerrie.
The heiress who grew up in a mansion with a gym revealed that she has never had to worry about finances.
“I had a pool, Jacuzzi, I was privately-educated and very privileged. The average property price around here is three quarters of a million,” she revealed.
She never checks price tags and has a handbag collection worth around £13,000, £15,000 diamond earrings, and an £8,000 Rolex.
“I love my jewelry, I love my diamonds. I love being pampered. I think the other I spent about £300 on skincare. I think your image to a certain extend does reflect who you are,” she shared.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Kerrie lives in a two-bedroom council house with her son Alfie, one, and daughter Cara, 10.
After paying for rent and bills, she only has £140 left to live off every month.
Leaving her country life, the 21-year-old heiress gets a shock of her life when she is taken by Kerrie to walk around Romford.
“There are quite a lot of police around,” Emily said.
“There will be, and this is quite mild,” Kerrie replied.
The sheltered heiress got a first-hand experience of the typical urban high street and it was too much for her.
After a few drunk men told her to ‘f*** off’ she immediately broke down in tears.
“The guy came up right behind me and it was then that I started to get really, really scared because you just don’t know what’s going to happen,” Emily expressed.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been in that situation before and fearing for my safety so much. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. Things like that don’t happen in Colston Basset.”
Kerrie said: “Poor Emily, it shook her up, but in a way I’m kind of glad she’s seen what she saw. She kind of has insight as to what it’s like for us down here.
“That was tame compared to what we can usually get.”
Emily is also forced to sleep on the sofa and she couldn’t sleep a wink. “Sleeping next to a busy road was different, normally where I live it’s silence,” Emily expressed.
