High school sweethearts passed away in a tragic car accident that took place mere minutes after the pair tied the knot.
20-year-old Rhiannon Boudreaux Morgan and 19-year-old Harley Joe Morgan had been close to each other ever since they were in the eighth grade.
Knowing that they were meant for each other, the young lovers tied the knot at an early age in front of their supportive families.
Just moments after taking their vows, however, a tragedy struck and the couple was killed in a car accident.
According to the reports, Harley and Rhiannon were just pulling out of the courtroom’s driveway when they collided with a pickup truck transporting a trailer.
After being married for just five minutes, the couple from Vidor, Orange County, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
To make things worse for the loving family, the groom’s mother and sister were driving right behind them when the crash occurred.
As the devastated mum said, her “worst nightmare” played right in front of her eyes as she attempted to pull the couple in blood-stained clothes out of the vehicle.
“They had just gotten married. They haven’t even been married for five minutes. Those two babies. The only thing that they wanted was to get married and start their life. The two of them had so many dreams,” heartbroken mother Lashawna said while fighting back tears in an interview with KDFM.
“I watched my baby die. I’m still wearing my son’s blood because I was trying my best to rip him and her out of the car.
“I witnessed my own worst nightmare. That’s an image that will haunt me the rest of my life. I won’t forget it.
“It will never go away. I will see that truck hit my baby and kill my baby every night of my life, the rest of the time that I’m on earth.”
As the mother added, the unexpected horror will haunt the families for the rest of their lives.
“My worst nightmare happened right in front of my eyes. If you have kids, go home and hug them, because I don’t have my kid, I don’t have the one thing in my life that made me happy,” she added.
“Even if you’re mad, hug your family. Love your family. Even if they’ve made you mad, make amends. Don’t go to bed angry because you don’t know. You don’t know how fast you can lose that person.”
