Max Akin, the quarterback for Fossil Ridge High School in Eller, was named homecoming king.
But, instead of accepting the crown, he did something that won everyone’s heart.
Max passed it on to K.L. Norwood, his friend and football team manager who has cerebral palsy because he felt he didn’t deserve it.
“I think it should’ve gone to the person who positively uplifts the school and everybody around him. And that person is K.L., for sure,” he said.
K.L. was surprised when he offered him the crown.
Then Max asked K.L. to accept the crown.

“He gave me a hug, and then he said, ‘I love you,’ and then he gave it to me. It was really nice of him to do that, and I’m actually glad he did, but yes, it did surprise me. It made me really, really happy.” K.L. told Today.
In an interview with WFAA, Max said: “I didn’t know when I would have the right time to do it. But I saw K.L., came over and gave him a hug, and I knew that he wanted that crown more than anything.”
Someone posted the video of Max presenting the crown to K.L., and it instantly went viral. Everyone applauded Max for his selfless act.
