A homeless man was caught on camera changing a random woman’s flat tire in the middle of the day when no one else would stop and help.
The incident was captured on camera by Anna Davidson, the co-owner of Jessie Jean’s Coffee Shop where the homeless man in question helps around to earn his meals.
“I just wanted them to put a face to who they are judging,” Anna said in an interview with KTSU after her story and the picture of the homeless man changing the tire went viral.
“Like, ‘Hey, here you go, that’s one of those folks you want us to hide away somewhere where we can’t see them.’”
Taking the matter to Facebook and praising the homeless man’s selfless actions, Anna wrote:
“Looked out the window to see this happening. This is Chuck .. he’s homeless and works his ass off helping every day in the cafe. This is ‘one of those people’ that get labeled. Ya know the ones everyone wants outta sight, outta mind..
“I didn’t see anyone else out helping this young lady, just Chuck .. the homeless guy.. thank you Chuck. We need to look at each person’s story one by one and start seeing people for who they are, people.”
As the Café owners added, Chuck is always helping out people who get into trouble.
“I wouldn’t be right here, right now, if it wasn’t for them two. I am as old as they are, and I would be proud to call them ma and pa,” Chuck said, speaking of Anna and her husband Ron.
As he admitted, he had been in and out of jail in the past but is doing his best to stay on the right path.
After Chuck’s story went viral, people praised the homeless man for taking action.
“Never judge a book by its cover. I hope he continues down the right path,” one viewer wrote.
“This is inspiring! I hope that everyone who looks at this post remembers that homeless people are still people, they are just down on their luck at this time,” another one added.
