Alexander Archbold runs Curiosity Inc, the shop is known for its unique collection of oddities and antique finds, some of which were located by a homeless man named Adam.

One day, Adam came into the shop with a plastic bag. Alexander checked the items from the bag to find out if there was anything of value. He noticed a picture of Bambi in a dirty old frame. It was the scene from the movie where Bambi is a new fawn and meets his forest friends.
Alexander loves the picture and found it interesting so he bought it for $20. Maybe he could up-sell it for $100. Then he looked at the picture more closely. There was a certificate of authenticity on the back, dating from 1937. The picture wasn’t just a sweet drawing: it was an actual image used by the film’s animation department!
Alexander did some investigation. There were a couple of galleries who valued the image at $3,500. He thought that Adam deserved at least half the money: he’d been the one to find it, after all! Alexander ultimately sold the picture on eBay for $2,780.
He then searched him, and it was difficult: since Adam is homeless, he has no address or phone number. So Alexander drove around Edmonton for about 2 weeks to find him.
“The back alleys and streets can be a tough place, and I want to make sure that if I give him a bunch of money I’m not going to put him in danger or in any kind of harm,” Archbold explained in a video he posted on YouTube.
“Either way, I got to make sure I look out for his best interest and his safety as well.”
Alexander finally finds Adam to give him the $1,700 he’d earned. That wasn’t all: he created a GoFundMe to arrange a plane ticket for Adam to go to his home in Ontario, and a place to stay off the streets.
The fundraiser got almost $8,000 over its $10,000 goal. Adam said he’s still not believing. He’s so humbled by all the kind strangers who have helped him to improve his life.
The buyer of the Bambi print posted on Archbold’s YouTube video, sharing his own story.
“Hi Alex,” he wrote. “I am the guy who won your eBay auction of the Bambi Cel. My name is Hugo. I am a retired self-employed landscape contractor from Long Island, NY.
“I was also brought up on welfare by my mom and was very poor as a kid. I am 70 yrs old now and raising our 3-year-old granddaughter with my loving wife.
“I was drawn to Adam and his heartfelt story. He seems to be a good man, down on his luck. No one should live like this… being alone wanting to be reunited with his boys.
“I bid 11 times to make sure that I would win the eBay auction and was hoping (sic) it would help Adam out. It’s in God’s hands now. Thank you, Alex, for helping all of us. You are a good man.”
It has changed a homeless man’s life forever for just $20.
