A hospital has come up with a brilliant way to relieve the stress of little children before they enter the operating room for surgery.

Being operated on is a scary and stressful experience, even for adults who are totally aware of what’s happening to them. But for little kids, it’s something beyond scary.

The feeling of separating from their parents and entering a weird place full of strange smell and tons of equipment is enough to terrify any kid.

So, anything which can relieve the anxiety of such children will undoubtedly be a huge plus. Fortunately, a hospital has found a way to relax children before they undergo their surgery.

They do this by using toy cars so the children can cruise around the wards stress-free.

The initiative taken by the thoughtful staff at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California, has now gone viral.

Adorable mini cars designed for children from 2 to 7 years of age ease everyone, from the vulnerable kids to their parents and even doctors.

Kids can select either a black Mercedes or a pink VW beetle.

Whatever car they choose, they happily enter the daunting environment of the operating room with a big smile on their faces.

The cars have working headlights and taillights so as to give a fun experience. They also have a radio so that children can listen to the music of their choice and get eased before the operation.

The little cars can either be controlled via a remote or operated by the children themselves.

Pre-op nurse Kimberly Martinez, who came up with the amazing idea, told CBS News: “When the children find out they can go into the operating room riding in a cool little car, they light up and in most cases, their fears melt away.

“In addition, when parents see their children put at ease, it puts them at ease as well.

“It can be traumatizing for a young patient to be peeled away from their parents as they head into surgery, this truly helps everyone involved.”

The internet loved the idea, with people across the globe praising it for being highly effective. Here’s what the users had to say:
