No matter where and when your little one is born, the birth is a gift and a blessing.
And to celebrate the birth of Christmas babies, a hospital decided to send them home in handmade red stockings.
There could be nothing cuter than a baby in a stocking, that’s why Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, Texas has been doing it for more than 50 years.
Bluebirds of Methodist Hospital, a volunteer, group, make stockings for newborn babies to be sent home from hospital.
Aside from Christmas stockings, they also make Christmas hats to make the newborns appear even more festive.
Many other hospitals are also now doing the same trend! Mount Auburn Hospital has also been doing it for over ten years.
People were so happy about this cute idea and many of them were a part of it, with one sharing: “This is adorable!! Our little man was born Christmas day 2009. Hospital dressed him as an elf.”
Another wrote: “I had one of these almost 40 yrs ago … Best Stocking Stuffer Ever!!!”
A third said: “My daughter was born on Christmas Day & was put in a Christmas Stocking ! One of my granddaughters was a Preemie & born before Christmas . She had to gain 5lbs to come home….she was released Christmas Eve. I took a picture of her in a stocking.”
Someone else added: “My sweet baby came home in a stocking almost 18 years ago on December 24. I didn’t, but my birthday is actually Christmas day.”
Let’s admit, babies in Christmas stockings are the cutest things ever!
