An Italian couple, who were together for more than 60 years, has passed away from coronavirus just hours apart.
82-year-old Severa Belotti and 86-year-old Luigi Carrara, who lived in Albino, in the northern Italian province of Bergamo, Lombardy together for more than 60 years, died just hours apart from coronavirus.
The family of the couple couldn’t even say goodbye to them.
The couple spent eight days locked at their home and had a fever of 102F (39C).
Last weekend, they were taken to a hospital in Bergamo.
The couple’s son Luca Carrara told he and his sister Monica couldn’t even say goodbye to their parents and they died alone at the hospital.
Mr. Carrara told he is also locked at his home with his family and couldn’t even get a chance to say bye or hug his parents or give some comfort.
He later wrote on social media: “Hi mum and dad, this bad virus has taken you both on the same day. Will you keep arguing up there too? I think so, but then everything will end with a hug.”
He told his father was healthy before passing away from coronavirus.
The devastated son also told he couldn’t see his parents’ bodies after their death as they will be cremated in a few days because “there are too many dead” and he is also living locked at his home.
He added: “People have to understand that they have to stay home because it is okay for them to keep saying that the victims are just old, but when it happens to their parents, it’s really difficult.”
He told that his sister took care of all the paperwork and he can’t even meet her as he is living in quarantine with his family.
He said: “No one can come visit me. Nothing. In one day I lost both my parents. But as my father always said, let’s move on.”
