A great artwork which has a house full of chimpanzee in it was sold for a huge amount, and it is a record set by a street artist.
It is amazing how talented artists paint such amazing pictures and sell them for huge prices.
The artwork was sold for £10 million, which consists of many chimpanzees in it. The artwork was first shown in the Bristol artist’s exhibition Banksy vs. Bristol Museum in the year 2009.
The artwork has topped the last auction record for the Banksy, and it is just amazing.
The artwork is called the Devolved Parliament, and after it was sold, the Banksy said on Instagram that it is a record price for the Banksy to sell a painting at this price. He further wrote a quote by the art critic Rober Hughes that the amount of a work of art is a part of the function, and its job is to sit on the wall and get more expensive.
Instead of being public or common property, an artwork can become someone’s private property if they can afford it. Banksy also described how he made this artwork ten years ago, and it was out in display to mark the Brexit day.
The chimpanzees started appearing in Banksy’s work since the year 2002 with his piece of Laugh now, and then he made this painting, which consists of many chimpanzees.
The painting shows how various chimpanzees are sitting in the rows together and trying to depict that you can laugh now, but one day, we all will be in charge of society. It is incredible that the painting described so many messages and was sold for millions.
