According to the reports, the shameful acts came to light after one of the senior staffers decided to come clean and report his comrades and their behavior.

To back his claims, the staffer shared explicit photos and videos that the senior staffers in question shared with each other via a Facebook Messenger group.

In one of the videos, a senior staffer, who has since reportedly been fired, was seen pleasuring himself behind the desk of a Liberal MP.

As the whistleblower insisted in an interview with Ten News, the accused staffers frequently used the Parliament House’s prayer room to commit sex acts.

“Yes, I could probably say there’s very little meditation or prayer going on in that room,” he said.

Meanwhile, the whistleblower told The Australian that the staffers thought they could do “whatever they want” thanks to their position. “I don’t think they’ve broken any laws — but morally, they’re bankrupt,” he added.

Following the explosive allegations, one senior staffer has already been fired. As Finance Minister Simon Birmingham vowed, all those involved in the scandal will get fired immediately.

“I am disgusted and appalled. It shows a complete disregard for all that our parliamentary democracy stands for,” he said.

“It also demonstrates an enormous disrespect for the employing member or senator in relation to those staff and those officers.

“It equally shows a complete contempt for the Australian taxpayers who have paid the wages for such staff and, in my opinion, any individuals who engaged in such activity ought to prepare to pack their bags and leave the building for good.”

Condemning the lewd actions was also Prime Minister Scott Morrison who called the allegations sickening and disgusting.

“Everyone has a right to feel safe at work. The reports aired tonight are disgusting and sickening. It’s not good enough, and is totally unacceptable. The people who come to work in this building are better than this,” he said.

“The actions of these individuals show a staggering disrespect for the people who work in parliament, and for the ideals the parliament is supposed to represent.”

The prime minister also urged people with further information about the scandal to step forward and speak up.
