Video footage near a football ground in China shows a 633-foot German ship named Hansa Constitution, moved towards land after failing to slow down in time.
Despite following emergency steps and dropping anchor, it was unable to curb the speed. Still, the ship touched the sea wall in front of Stanley Ho Sports Center in Hong Kong.
However, no injuries have been reported due to this problem and the extent of the damage of the ship is yet to be known.
As reported to sources like Hamburg-based Hansa Treuhand Gruppe, it is said that the accident happened on account of power loss on board.
It had sailed from Yokohama in Japan and it was destined to go through East Lamma Channel and reach the Chinese city in Shenzhen.
Relating to this, the marine department of Hong Kong reported to the media sources that there was a mechanical malfunction that happened when the vessel was about to reach the shore.
Also, there were issues on the advisory of cautionary measures and getting a warning for the restricted visibility offshore.
It may happen that even a big boat can float out of control. In this relation, a cruise ship was damaged at the Coxen Hole on Honduras’s Roatan Island on the 10th of April.
