Google Maps can be pictured as a godsend gift for those individuals who are distinctively lacking in the skills of navigation.
However, one guy from Germany did something unthinkable as he played around with this invaluable tool.
He carried around 99 cell phones across the streets and created a virtual traffic jam. People have brilliant ideas in their minds that allows them to do things that can leave others speechless.
This man, Simon Weckert, made it look as if the streets of Berlin are filled with numerous cars, just by dragging a wagon with 99 cell phones in it.
All the phones that he carried had been using Google Maps, which helped in creating a red line that will give others the impression that the street is jam-packed.
Simon did share his reason for his actions, and he said that it will enable others to take a different route for navigation.
He also added that, through this technique, it will help in generating a real traffic jam somewhere else in the city. To make his plan successful, he rented 99 phones and purchased 99 SIM cards.
Once he had all the things he needed, Simon spent several hours on each of the streets of Berlin and went back and forth with his wagon.
This technique enables him to create an illusionary gridlock in Google Maps.
If you are thinking who this wheel-barrow man is, well Simon is an artist, and he took it upon himself to teach everyone how to investigate the data that is given to everyone.
He said that the hack he created allowed him to see what the things possible with technology are. With the help of this hack, it shows how much everyone trusts and relies on technology.
Even though they get hacked, they will still believe what is displayed on their screen.
That is why you need to remember that all technologies will not perform like it should and please do not trust what you see in the Google Maps from today.
Who knows? It might a guy carrying 99 mobile devices across the empty streets and messing with the data.
