Huggies is being praised all over the social media after they featured a black man and baby on the packaging of their latest line of diapers.
Earlier this month, the diaper company introduced a new class of diapers, made entirely from natural plant material.
While some users are talking about the product and its eco-friendliness, others seem to be more excited about the packaging.
A father from Oak Forest Illinois was exceptionally excited to see the box the diapers come in, bearing a picture of a black dad like him. He said this move is ‘first in history.’
“Huggies done went and put a black father on the package of their diapers,” Joe wrote in caption while sharing the picture of the packaging on Facebook.
He added: “This is a “first in history” look how far we’ve come. I’m about to buy these for no reason whatsoever.”
Huggies haven’t yet confirmed if it’s actually the first time they have featured a black father and son on their product packaging.
If it is the first time, it means the company is really up to doing something big in fighting racism.
One of the boxes features Orlondo Thompson posing with a baby girl named Soraya Lattimore while the other shows another black dad with a baby lying on his chest.
More ad campaign pictures and package detailing show parents and babies of varying races, posing in a happy mood.
The social media users seem to be much impressed by the move.
“My babies are all out of diapers they are big kids now but I’m going to buy this box just because it’s beautiful,” commented a mother.
“I don’t even have kids and I’ma low key buy a package just to support!” one person said.
“Yesssss. This is amazing!!!! If u “buy for no reason at all” you could always donate to your local diaper drive, I know Salvation Army offers diapers to lower income families,” another user wrote.
Even the model himself was excited about this meaningful packaging image he was part of.
Taking to his Instagram, Orlando wrote: “Of all my print and commercial work, this by far is the dopest.”
