The Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman has responded to the bullied boy with dwarfism who has gone viral for threatening to take his own life after suffering from a bullying session at his school.
After the heartbreaking video posted by Quaden Bayles’ mother went viral, millions of people including prominent celebrities and politicians have expressed their support for the boy and raised some $500,000 to send him and his family to Disneyland.
One of the actors who voiced his concerns over bullying and showed his support for the 9-year-old boy was also Hugh Jackman who told Quaden “you’ve got a friend in me.”
“Quaden, you are stronger than you know, mate, and no matter what, you’ve got a friend in me. Everyone, let’s just please be kind to each other. Bullying is not OK, period,” Mr. Jackman said in his video shared on Twitter.
Jackman’s touching response followed shortly after Quaden’s heartbroken mum Yarraka Bayles explained in her video that her son wanted to kill himself after he suffered from a bullying session at school.
According to the mum, she typically keeps family matters private but was left with no other solution than to go viral after her son asked her for a rope to take his own life.
“So I’ve just picked my son up from school, witnessed a bullying episode, rang the principal and I want people to know this is the effect bullying has. This is what bullying does,” Yarraka was heard saying in her video.
“So can you please educate your children, your families, your friends because all it takes is one more instance… and you wonder why kids are killing themselves.”
The mum added:
“This is the impact bullying has a nine-year-old kid who just wants to go to school, get an education and have fun but every single fricking day something happens. Another episode another bullying, another taunt, another name-calling.”
Meanwhile, little Quaden, who has dwarfism, was seen crying and sobbing and asking his mum to give him a rope so that he could kill himself.
“Give me a rope, I want to kill myself,” the 9-year-old said. “I just want to stab myself in the heart… I want someone to kill me,” he added.

After the heartbreaking video went viral, stand-up comedian Brad Williams started a GoFundMe page and raised nearly $500,000 with the help of Good Samaritans.
Part of the money will go towards sending Quaden and his mom to Disneyland and paying for their accommodation, admission tickets, and food. The rest will be donated to anti-bullying organizations.
“I’m setting up this GoFundMe to let Quaden know that bullying will not be tolerated, and that he is a wonderful human being who deserves joy,” Mr. Williams, who also has dwarfism, wrote.
