A woman has come across a heartbreaking farewell message written by her husband before he died and left behind his wife and their two children.
According to a BuzzFeed News report, 33-year-old Katie Coelho from Connecticut rushed to the hospital after her husband, 32-year-old Jon, suffered a fatal cardiac arrest allegedly caused by COVID-19.
After her husband’s tragic passing at the hospital where he was being treated for the killer bug, Katie picked up his stuff before coming across a tear-jerking note on her man’s phone.
“I love you guys with all my heart and you’ve given me the best life I could have ever asked for. I am so lucky it makes me so proud to be your husband and the father to Braedyn and Penny,” Jon’s note addressed to Katie read.
“Katie you are the most beautiful caring nurturing person I’ve ever met…..you are truly one of a kind…..make sure you live life with happiness and that same passion that made me fall in love with you. Seeing you be the best mom to the kids is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced.”
In his farewell message, Jon went on to call his son his “best bud” and his daughter “a princess” before insisting he’s lucky.
“Don’t hold back and if you meet someone know that if they love you and the kids that I love that for you. Always be happy no matter what!” the husband concluded.
As Katie explained in an interview with BuzzFeed News, she and Jon had a rough time starting their own family due to suffering two miscarriages.
Following IVF, they gave life to little Braedyn, 2 years, and Penelope, 10 months, whereas the boy miraculously survived despite being given just months to live due to neurological issues.
“They’re not going to grow up to know how amazing their dad was. And that really is sad to me, because he is, was, an amazing guy,” Jacob Wycoff, the 32-year-old’s friend, told BuzzFeed News.
