When you love someone, you love everything about them.
But, living with someone is a different thing, you have to accept all of their interesting or quirky habits, whether you like it or not. It becomes difficult when you are a clean and organized person, and the other person is just the opposite. It can be frustrating when you are constantly picking up after other people.
Caitlin Fladager recently shared a story about Love What Matters and she explains her side of the story beautifully.
Fladager is from Vancouver, Canada, she is married to her high school sweetheart. They share a great relationship, but there is only one problem in their day-to-day life.
She says, when he comes home from work, there it was: his clothing everywhere. But, instead of getting annoyed Fladager doesn’t actually mind it.
“My husband can never put his clothes IN the dirty laundry basket. They’re always on the floor. And it makes me appreciate him even more,” she wrote.
She wrote that she saw another post that shows a similar situation, and it shows that men aren’t capable of putting their clothes in the right place.
“My husband came home from work, played with our children a little, asked what was for dinner, if I needed anything, then went to take a shower. Ten minutes later, I walk past the laundry basket, right where our washroom also is. And I see it. The thing that would usually make me yell through the shower door. The thing that has annoyed me for so long. But this time, I see something different.”
This time when she saw his clothing, she noticed drenched in dirt and sweat. His clothes make her realized that her husband works so hard every day.
”So, I looked at those dirty clothes on the floor, that I once would have started a fight over, and I picked them up, put them in the basket, and walked away,” she said.
She continued: “When he got out of the shower, he noticed his dirty shoes and clothes were no longer there, and that I hadn’t said anything. And he thanked me. Which he had never done before, probably because I was too quick to start an argument about it.”
”He said, ‘Thank you for putting that away. I had a long day.’”
The woman explained that she saw the other side of the story and sees her husband in a whole new light that day.
This man is so lucky to have such an understanding, patient and caring wife!
