Actor, producer, and singer Idris Elba has confirmed he tested positive for the novel coronavirus in his Tuesday tweet.
As the 47-year-old star, who was named the Sexiest Man Alive of 2018 by People, revealed, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 following testing.
Nevertheless, the actor said he feels okay as he urged people not to worry about his condition.
“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus,” he wrote.
“Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”
The ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’ star has also shared a video in which he opened up about social distancing and claimed his wife also feels ok.
“Look, this is serious. Now is the time to start thinking about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms, and that can easily spread it,” the 47-year-old said.
“So now is the time to be really vigilant about washing your hands, and keeping your distance.”
As Mr. Elba went on to say, the couple has already informed their families about the test results and have done everything in their power to isolate themselves.
The news follows shortly after Tom Hanks and his wife revealed they were both tested positive for the killer virus and urged people to “take care.”
