The Border Protection and Customs Agency of the United States have decided to release some detainees who were illegal immigrants.
They are putting more emphasis on people who have immigrated with their families.
This decision was taken because the States is running out of places and do not have enough house for the thousands of immigrants who either seek asylum or jump to cross the border every month.
According to sources already fifty illegal immigrants have already been released till date. In the upcoming days, more of them will be given paper notices containing court dates and can then live with their families in the United States.
The maximum number of releases is scheduled to occur along the border of Mexico and Texas, especially near McAllen and EI Paso because these are two major points of crossing border.
The spokesperson of CBP said that these releases are to be done keeping in mind the vulnerable population and the safety of the officer.
In normal situations, the immigrants were transferred to the Customs Enforcement and immigration by the Border patrol for the further procession of the case or even to detention facilities in some cases.
However, presently both the agencies are out of space as reported by the officials, due to an influx of Central American families.
Apart from the space problem other dangerous conditions are also occurring among the immigrants. In crowded detention facility homes near crowded borders of Texas and Mexico, communicable diseases have run rampant like mumps.
This has infected a huge number of people at a time recently in the migration camps and houses offered to illegal immigrants. Some immigrants are facing problems like dehydration, flu, and other health issues.
These problems got contracted when they were passing through Mexico. The officials are finding it difficult to provide beds to all migrants. This resulted in the officials’ taking such a step towards illegal immigrants in The United States of America.
