17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse from Illinois has been arrested as the suspect for fatally shooting two protestors on Tuesday night in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Protestors had gathered to address the death of Jacob Blake, a black man who was shot and severely injured by the police.

The news was broke out by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Molly Beck, who reported that Rittenhouse has been arrested and charged with homicide of the first-degree. It has not been disclosed where the culprit was arrested.

It has been reported that Rittenhouse is from Antioch, IL. Just 17 miles from the state borders between Wisconsin and Illinois, driving to the protest scenes in Kenosha would have been a very plausible plan for the suspected murderer.

Rittenhouse was not alone on the scene. In a group that some media sources have referred to as a local militia, more than a few men who were armed had formed their groups against the protestors. It is not yet clear if Rittenhouse is the sole culprit for the shooting that took place.

A series of videos that chronicles what took place in the chaotic city has went viral online. In a violent crash that took place after a man was killed by a gunshot to his head, the angry protestors chased down the shooter – who is currently suspected as Rittenhouse.

When the culprit takes a wrong step and slows down, the mob catches up with him. At this point, the shooter once again fires from his weapon which landed on two more protestors who had apprehended the suspect.

The more confusing aspect of the whole ordeal is the role that the militia group played. Footages from earlier the same day suggest that these armed men may in fact have been guarding the stores from looters – supported by how an officer offers one of them water.

The exact backstory and context of the situation is still very much unclear, although police suspect that the first man who was lying on the floor dead may have been the victim of a conflict between the militia and the protestors after a smoke grenade went off.
