A grandmother is sharing her utter heartbreak and devastation after revealing how she is tired of raising her 4 young grandchildren in a tiny two-bedroom home, for the past two years.
Speaking on an online platform recently, 57-year-old Susan Cotter from Glasgow revealed how she sleeps upon a single bed that’s present in her home’s living room. Similarly, she spoke about how her grandson sleeps on the ground and his sisters must share bedrooms too.
“I am just so tired and running out of hope. It has been five years that we’ve lived like this, raising a family at this age and this many people is certainly not easy, and the fact that our home is so tiny makes the matter worse,” she revealed.
The 57-year-old also spoke about how she has cared for her grandchildren like her own. But it’s definitely not an easy ordeal in terms of her current living conditions. Moreover, the fact that these young children are getting bigger also makes the situation all the more difficult and for that reason, she’s raising her voice on the matter.
Speaking about how her own daughter passed away due to her drug addiction problem, the grandmother revealed how she was suddenly left to take care of all five of the kids on her own. But her living space is just too small.
“I’ve been requesting help from the NHS and other social services for so long. Sadly, people come over, inspect, offer their sympathy and that’s it. They leave immediately without doing anything practical,” she cried.
Today, Susan feels overwhelmed and abandoned by the system because she feels they just aren’t doing enough. The children are 17, 15,14, and 8 years in age. It’s just hard for her to see them like this, let alone take care of their expenses and living standards in this state.
Revealing how this is her final plea, the grandmother says she has lost all hope but is willing for a miracle that can somehow give her grandkids a bigger living space because they deserve just that.
