Shelley and Joe DelRocco made a treehouse for their cats in 2008.
The Florida-based husband and wife duo liked it so much, they started making them for other people as well. Soon, their passion grew into a business and today, they sell their designs to cat owners all over the States and beyond. Credit for their huge success goes to one particular feature their products share: Trees.
Shelley and Joe continually improve their designs with one goal in mind: to provide the most lifelike natural environment for cats to enjoy indoors.
And they combine their love for animals with Joe’s experience to build homes, and they’re killing it!
Some of these little houses can be used even for multiple cats.
Crafted of wood, cedar, plush carpeting, and silk leaves, they bring out the playfulness in their inhabitants. The movement, rustling, and flexibility exhibited when cats climb to speak of their instinct of curiosity. These treehouses are durable interactive play centers, and they’re also beautiful pieces of art that suit the human’s home as well.
“Our real cat tree with leaves is designed to focus on your cat’s true nature, bringing out your cat’s primal instincts,” the DelRoccos said.
“This method helps reduce captive stress and encourages your cat to stretch and scratch on the gnarled branches, bark, lichen and all.”
The houses cost from $574 to $1,199 and are sold on Shelley and Joe’s ETSY store. Quite pricey but worth every penny!
