Aldi has a magical middle aisle that can make anyone think of things to be absolutely essential which indeed would be hardly used once purchased.
A 3D printer or a patio heater with color-changing lights and a Bluetooth speaker are seldom the items required. But you can feel a sudden spree for shopping these at Aldi.
The strangest example would be of Craig Holland exploration of a full size kayak out of the store when he was only sent to pick a bottle of wine as requested by his fiancée Holly.
Craig, aged 32, was supposed to get a simple post-work pit stop at the Stafford Aldi on Radford Bank to pick a bottle of Holly’s favorite dry white wine of South African vineyards, Cambalala which cost £3.99 per bottle.
Craig mentioned that he planned to head straight towards the wine section when the instinct got him compelled to pay a visit to the middle aisle. This is where he found the inflatable kayak which he thought to be a great option for spending leisurely holidays with his daughter.
While he was expecting the well structured kayak to cost around £100, the price tag showed a mere £39.99 to his utter surprise.
He chose his piece from the available options of color combinations like grey-green and black-red and thought of spending some time alone with it at the river next to Cannock Chase Forest.
After he found himself a launch point at the river, he felt a little nervous as he never had an experience of riding a kayak or a canoe.
He finally decided to paddle upstream to negate any chances of no return from down streams and started the journey after putting his belongings into the wet bag inside. Graig felt easy as the kayak progressed and enjoyed every bit of the ride.
Though Holly almost had a shock seeing the kayak, Craig somehow adored his new possession that is 328 cm in length and accommodated two adults comfortably. More to his delight, the kayak had paddles for easy navigation and was capable of carrying 160 kg weight.
Craig further added that a friend of his also went to Aldi to buy a kayak inspired by his purchase.
However, in all these acts of impulses, Craig remembered to buy the wine for Holly. Good Thing!
