Little Bernice Nantanda Wamal died due to severe complications that took place during her sleepover, right after she fell terribly sick at one of her friend’s houses recently.

Local media outlets explained how the young girl began throwing up profusely, after consuming her breakfast. For that reason, her parents were immediately notified of the horror.

Bernice was staying with her friend who lived in the same residential building as her family. Her mother has alleged that the friend that allowed her daughter to stay over for a sleepover informed her that young Bernice was not well, ever since she ate her breakfast.

On that note, the mum immediately rushed on over to see what the matter was and that’s when she found her loving child in the direst state imaginable. “Bernice was terribly weak, her whole mouth had turned grey in color as I rushed to check up on her,” her mother who was identified as Maurine Mirembe explained.

Moreover, Maurine reportedly gave a recent interview to CTV and that’s where she spoke about how she was guided upstairs and saw her daughter lying upon a chair. She looked so sick and it was harrowing for any parent to see their child in such a state, she added.

“I had to squeeze her middle finger to see if she had any blood running inside of her, but there was nothing,” the mother cried.

Young Bernice was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital with her other friend, but the poor toddler did not survive. However, the other young child did manage to make a full recovery from the incident with time.

Bernice died at the hospital, shortly after she was admitted, explained the police report.

Just over the weekend, a man by the name of Francis Ngugi who is a native from Toronto was recently arrested as well as charged. He was slapped with two counts relating to the administration of noxious substances that endangered life, two counts relating to unlawful bodily harm, and one charge for criminal negligence which resulted in a toddler’s death.

Toronto Police claim that the suspect got access to a noxious substance from his workplace and hence opted to place that into the toddler’s breakfast cereal, during their sleepover. However, investigations into the matter are still underway as police are still trying to determine the exact motive behind the incident.
