The success of recent series Chernobyl by HBO is on hype and people around the world is praising the series for the excellence of its script and all the elements put together.
But it looks like Instagram influencers are not making the scriptwriters much happy. Instagram or should I say, Instagram influencers create trend out of anything and Chernobyl landed in the same situation.
Writers of the new web series that instantly gained the attention of millions around the globe are urging people to honor the site of Pripyat as a major tragedy happened in the region.
Tourists are flooding in the region since the 5 episode series came out and the region is witnessing the highest amount of tourists and visitors ever.
SoloEast tour company’s director, Sergiy Ivanchuk said there is a sudden boom in tourism in the area. The company’s tourism has gone up by 30 percent.
He said that they have about 40% percent more bookings already for the months of June, July, and August in comparison to last year’s.
On Instagram, if you go and check the hashtag #Chernobyl then you will see as many as 275,000 tagged to the hashtag. In all these pictures, the social media stars and influencers can be seen posing riskily for the daring pictures.
Expressing his opinion on the same, Craig Mazin, the creator of the show wrote on his twitter “I have seen the pictures going around and it is great to know that our show has hyped up the tourism in the region and the town is becoming more popular each day.
But to each and every one of you, I would like to remind you that something terrible happened in the town and it is important we maintain respect for that.”
There are many other people on social media who do not appreciate the pictures that are floating around simply because of the concern of respect for people who have sacrificed their lives in the region.
