People are all about challenges nowadays. Put up a social media post and hashtag it with “challenge” and see people scrambling to duplicate what you just shared (the most recent popular one being the so-called “bottlecap challenge” that even saw celebrities like Jason Statham and Donnie Yen participating).
But it’s not enough that only people do these challenges there are challenges specifically meant for pets (usually dogs) to participate in. One well-known challenge was holding a blanket in front of the pet and then having the owner duck out of the way as he/she lets go of the blanket in order to leave the pet confused at the empty space where their owner used to be.
Now there’s a new viral challenge that’s in the air called the Invisible Challenge.
It all started when a user going by the name “TuckerBudzyn” shared a video on Instagram and Twitter on July 2, 2019, with the hashtag “Invisible challenge.” The video shows a woman running and jumping over an obstacle made of clear plastic wrap that was strung in such a way as to block the door.
Her dog soon follows and is stymied by the “invisible” wall. Pop-up text added even more humor to the video and people were entranced. The clip gained more than two million views worldwide in only a few days and typical for such viral sensations, people started recreating the challenge and posting their own videos.
One such video shows a man running and jumping over the “invisible” wall but hot on his tail are three Golden Retrievers. The three dogs skid to a stop but one of them, who the uploader dubbed “Henny, the savage” isn’t stumped for long and forces her way under the plastic wrap to make her way to her owners. The text shows “Can’t fool me!” as the woman behind the camera laughs.
She then calls out to Henny’s two companions who are still intimidated by plastic wrap. But no amount of coaxing and encouragement can get those two to budge and that’s when the video ends.
For sure, Henny is one smart dog who can think quickly on her feet as she barely stopped for something that baffled her companions.
