Janitors are among those folks who always go unnoticed no matter how much effort and dedication they put in their work.
Despite playing an important role in everyone’s life, they are those who don’t even get the respect and admiration they deserve.
However, that’s not the case in this school where more than 800 students made a janitor feel like a celebrity as he turned 80 years of age.
Watch the amazing celebration below.

Haze Mabry came to the Pike County Elementary school to mop the floor and clean the washrooms as per his usual routine. The old man had no idea about what the little children had planned for his big day.
As soon as he entered the school, he saw long queues of children on the hallway greeting him by singing ‘Happy Birthday.’
Kids who were carrying posters and banners in their hands were trying to shake hands with him. Many of them rushed to hug him and many presented him handmade birthday cards.
There were so many cards that Haze had to carry several baskets to hold them. Some children even started walking alongside him to help him in carrying the load.
With every step forward, the janitor was hearing the shouts of ‘Mr. Haze! Mr. Haze!’ It was no doubt, an unforgettable experience for him.
For those who are envying Haze’s reputation, let us clarify that the position where he is standing today isn’t something that came to him naturally.
Haze has earned a good name by devoting himself to his work and by being compassionate and kind to everyone he encounters in the school.
He treats all children as if they were his own kids. He listens to their stories, talks about how they are feeling and about how their day went.
In fact, no face from third to fifth grade is unfamiliar to Haze as he has interacted with almost every pupil.
Mrs. Lori Gilreath who is one of the teachers who took part in organizing the party said Haze is the most favorite and dearest person in the whole school.
Every morning at sharp 6:30, Haze is found in the school where he has been working for the past 13 years. After fulfilling his duties and responsibilities, he goes back to his home at 5:30.
Before his current job, Haze had to pick cotton to earn a living. But now, things are getting better for him as he has become a popular figure at his workplace and his three children have completed their graduation from the same school.
Shedding light on his personality, Mrs. Gilreath said Haze is loved by everyone as his constant and kind presence has influenced many lives.
She said Haze has never expected or demanded any reward for his service.
She added that the attention and honor children awarded the janitor on his 80th birthday was just the fruit of his own deeds, his love and care, and the time which he gives to every little child in need.
Replaced!
